Archie Cubarrubia is a doctoral candidate in Higher Education Administration at the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He also serves as senior analyst with the Office of the Under Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education. He served as senior analyst with the Secretary of Education’s Commission on the Future of Higher Education. Archie also regularly performs with the DC-based improvised comedy troupes The Lodge and Donna Martin Graduates. He received his training at Washington Improv Theater. Archie has coordinated orientation,
transition, and retention programs for first-year students and
families at the University
of Rhode Island, Northern
Arizona University, and Boston
University. His research interests include first-year student
development, transition, and success; student affairs assessment;
accreditation; diversity education; and cultural identity development.
A recipient of several national awards, Archie also served as editor
of The Orientation Review, a publication of the National
Orientation Directors Association. He received his Master of Education in Higher Education Administration and his Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. |
